BC Provincial Councillors, the provincial government Cabinet, the provincial Minister of Urban Affairs Anne Kang, and Assistant Minister Dicken participated in the discussion and exchange. We engaged in comprehensive discussions on Canada’s political system, including the structure of the upper and lower parliaments, selection and election rules for members across all three levels of government, operational mechanisms of the provincial assembly and Cabinet, modes of cooperation between provincial functional departments and municipal governments, as well as the governing philosophy of BC New Democratic Party. The symposium lasted over two hours but passed swiftly amidst a relaxed and joyful atmosphere.
